One of the major events of the annual International Competition is the exhibition of the 100-120 posters selected from the entries in the international poster competition. The upcoming Festival will take place from May 16 to June 14, 2009, and we’d be glad to welcome you.

Please send your best posters done over the past 3 years. All the posters selected by the jury and the ones selected in accordance to the rules of the Competition are meticulously filed and stored in Chaumont. These posters constitute one of the finest and largest ensembles of international posters located in France and most likely in all of Europe, offering an exciting counterpart to the Fonds Dutailly, a collection of historic posters bequest to the city one century ago.

This unique ensemble is intrinsically linked to the Festival, laying the groundwork for the Graphic design, which will establish Chaumont as leading forum for work, encounters, research and permanent exhibitions in the field of poster and graphic design.

We invite you to take part in the International Competition 2009 by sending us your best recent work, whatever the topic.
We hope you will join us in Chaumont for the Festival’s opening on May 15nd, 16th and 17th in order to discover the exciting programme for 2009 and to attend the awards ceremony. An increasing number of students, professionals and general public come to the Chaumont Festival each year to discover the best in contemporary French and international creation and to pay homage to a key personality in the history of graphic design.

Dopo 13 anni di interventi, progetti, idee e proposte concrete per lo spazio pubblico, forti dell’esperienza del progetto design pubblico, esterni presenta la prima edizione del Public Design Festival: un festival che chiama a raccolta in primo luogo designer e architetti, ma anche amministratori pubblici, aziende, e semplici cittadini sul tema dello spazio pubblico, sul modo in cui viene pensato, progettato, o al contrario non-pensato e non-progettato.

Un festival di sei giorni che prevede installazioni e progetti in alcuni spazi pubblici della città, incontri con i rappresentanti dei più importanti festival di design urbano internazionali, momenti di confronto sul tema dello spazio pubblico, un progetto di ospitalità alternativa, una grande festa per celebrare lo spazio pubblico.

Nei giorni del Salone del Mobile, in cui l’attenzione di tutti è concentrata sugli spazi privati, esterni vuole affermare con ancora maggiore forza la centralità e l’importanza dello spazio pubblico come luogo in cui nasce la città e il senso di comunità; e non lo fa più da sola, ma chiamando a raccolta tutti coloro che nel mondo si occupano e sono interessati al tema dello spazio pubblico.
